Since I got drug tested Tuesday, we ate poppy seed chicken for dinner yesterday :)
Last night, penny slept in her own room...well at least for a couple of hours. Dave and I were so happy at the option of being loud that we ended up staying up late giggling like school girls at a sleepover.
It began as a confession. I'm a horrible liar and Dave could tell I was hiding something. Well, it's even harder to hide something when you have a shopping bag of things even though you were supposed to be at a church activity all evening. We began laughing so hard because he said that he's always trying to get me to buy things for myself and I felt so guilty because I thought he wanted me to stay for the "will" writing lesson.
Somehow it turned into reminiscing over our first flutterings of attraction towards each other. We admitted to truths that we were too embarrassed to think about before. How we felt when our hug was sabotaged, that my heart skipped a beat when he strolled up to the camp fire, how he texted to see if I were an activity before he made an appearance, how I thought about him while I was on dates with others and gradually stopped trying on those dates. Overall, I married the right guy. We have mutually cared about each other since the first day we met.

Bryant and Amanda Smith Wedding Film
If I seem to be too busy because I'm filmmaking, having a new nephew be born or it's sunny outside; it's safe to say I'm happy.

Snippets from the Wedding Tonight
I love this shot of her dad and her dancing specifically because the band had finished so her father sang to her.

Brooke Schultz
I worked with Brooke, the lovely photographer on the Ashley Moser-Michael Mungia wedding this last Saturday. Here are the bridals she did of the couple.

And here are a couple of screenshots I took which I'll post on facebook after she has posted a few more from the wedding.

| Scaffolding. The bride's and photographer's worst nightmare. Personally, I kinda liked it. |
The wedding was romantic, it was classy, it was intimate.

Garrett and Jodi Wedding
Garrett is my brother in-law's brother who is the same age as I. Since I recently got hired to do a wedding, I've been researching a ton about bettering my photography/videography to guarantee my clients my best work. After all the research, I decided I needed to put it into practice and scouted out as many weddings as I could to practice on. Garrett and Jodi just happen to be the couple I know the most, making it the least creepy that I took tons of pictures.
I believe in lace.

ANNIVERSARY!
Life goes on...
when your plants die because you forgot to water them.
If your food rots from neglect.
Heck, even if your cat dies unexpectedly by a cranky neighbor.
But never, never, ever let love die.
Love is one of the few things that was pre-destined to be immortal. Nobody can take it away from you.
Dave has learned a lot about me this past year. The secrets about my road-rage, my embarrassing drooling habit, my deep fear of mucus and inability to waste time are out. Yet, each sentence from his mouth still sounds like he got it from a romance novel. It's hard not to get jealous of him: everybody likes Dave, he says the right things and he has endless patience with me. We both have wondered if a hormonal imbalance makes him happy every moment of the day. My investigations point to yes. Here are some of our favorite love songs, click on them to hear them.
I believe in marriage. ッ

"Settle Down"
One time in Young Womens I got up and said, "I never want to 'settle down.' That's just a nicer say of saying they became 'boring.'" You know how you wish there was an unsend button on your email? I wish there was a mute button on some of my past sentences. Life doesn't end after marriage folks, believe it or not.

March 23, 2011 David J proposed.
When the love of my life proposed, I knew he was perfect for me. I knew I would spend the rest of my days laughing. I knew we'd grow old holding hands and watching classic movies together. But it only took two minutes after that ring landed on my finger for the panic to slowly immobilize every inch of my body. The unwritten expectations of being a perfect fiancee, perfect bride and perfect wife overwhelmed me.
It took time but those feelings finally fleeted. The instant I said "yes" on my wedding day, the unnecessarily huge load of fear was lifted. Now, everyday I get glimpses of why it was worth it to get married. I am the product of love. I love on a deeper level: a more vulnerable but more rewarding level.
Settling Down: better desires, bona fide, clearer perspective, finer tastes.
I believe in growing up.

Running Away
They were madly in love.
Enough to run away.
So they did.
But before that story, you have to hear the pre-wed day. July 4th, Freedom Run with Mary (age 9)
"Runaway Bride"
but not really.

The other night I lost it. I couldn't stop crying because of stress. Dave sat silently and just hugged me. After I had calmed down a little bit and wondered what he would do now that he saw the *monster* he took me by the hand to his car, sat me down and said, "We should play a game."
A game? Now?
The rules are: Dave makes an animal noise and I have to mimic his noise before it can be my turn.
Everything instantly got better.

Money
Money scares me. It always has. Thus, working on a budget is exhausting. But probably important.
Meanwhile, I still love dave. That's good, right?

Engage.
My dreams are coming TRUE!
4/27Being a visually oriented individual has it's perks and it's downsides. Walking outdoors is such a treat, feeling the sun, hearing the breeze is always a rejuvinating experience for me. Sometimes all I think to myself is, "If people could see the world the way I see the world, nobody could find a reason to complain." There are times that words can't explain the way I feel, but the rest of my senses capture *me* perfectly. PS someday I hope I can afford a camera provides my perspective but that will probably be a while.
Unfortunately, this talent of mine creates some issues for myself. Basically, I have an unattainable expectation for my self image. Which makes taking pictures for my wedding the MOST intimidating aspect of marriage for me (right now.) We took engagements yesterday and I was so nervous. I even ran nine miles the day before. First off, the dress I was hoping to take our pictures in didn't come. My toenail came all the way off and it looked like it was going to rain. REGARDLESS of all that, I really feel like God looked out for me yesterday. He has been a lot lately and I'm so grateful for that.
At work, I decided to watch Sabrina. It is one of those movies that I like the remake just as much as the original (which is not average.) Not only was it so romantic but I got all giddy. Then my teeth looked whiter and my mascara went on just how I liked it. Dave....oh I can't even start about him...he looked SO good. I love that beard of his and he wore the colors that really brings out his eyes.
Marco Greis was phenomenal. He was so much fun to work with and I would recommend him to anyone. He made me feel pretty and that's hard to do. When he sent us the first round of pictures my jaw dropped and I couldn't stop looking at them. I can only dream that the rest of wedding photos will go as well as this last time. I am shocked and amazed with how wonderful this experience has turned out. Thank you.

Colors!
First off, I don't know what happened to the other posts on here but I know what I want my colors to be. Yellow, purple and grey!!!! They are my favorite colors and with all of the other possible combinations I had one or the other but it never felt right. Yay! Finally.
So there. Done.
