Dear school and usual busy Lizi,
I'm mad at you right now.
Get. Over. Yourself. NOW. You are worried about all of the wrong things. Why do you do that? How is it that you can leave town and go somewhere that nobody has much expectation for you and feel like you can be more of yourself than the months of endless tries you do at home?
and you dwell, oh you dwell so much that your eyeballs could probably fall out from exhaustion. You have a unhealthy mindset ya know. Somebody tells you that your life is over and then viola, you act like your life is over. Somebody tells you that you shouldn't like utah and viola you have second thoughts toward the place you LOVED growing up. Somebody tells you that you don't want to have kids for five years and it only takes you two days of vacation for you to begging your husband to be up for it now. You're really selfish. Work on that. Don't let school, others or your own thoughts make you forget the things you love the most.

Don't forget that you can do it. No matter what it is.

Sincerely,
Lizi

Santa's Baby

I had this idea but I didn't want it to seem naughty. So I made them young lovers with wedding rings! Hopefully they look as happy about the baby as I want them to look. Secretly, I'll tell you that I kinda like the runner up characters I did more than the ones that turned out but it's not bad. I have a colored version but I didn't want to re-take the pictures. Lazy me, but don't blame me for enjoying a lovely christmas eve.
Logline: I TOLD you I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus!

The runner up characters

I believe in Santa.

Adventure Awaits!

Simply put, I'm craving an adventurous quest. and a victorian style dress of course.

I blame this on Prudence (Tuppence) Cowley, Sherlock Holmes and Minny Jackson. That's what I get for trying to read to relax and shows how it is near plum impossible for me to try to do "nothing." Ugh, that word even leaves a bad taste on my fingertips. So long realistic expectations, Lizi gone be crayzay!

Dear world, bring it on! PS Sorry Dave.
I believe in home-made peach jam.

How Hitler Really Became Famous

This is for Papa. Get well soon. (Thanks Rachel!)

I believe in singing from the soul, though most of us don't sound the way we wish.

Heeeelllllllloooooooo Humidity!

One week til when? Christmas!!! and where else would anyone want to be other than with my in-laws (whom I am convinced is Mr. and Mrs. Claus)  in South Dakota? That's right.

I unplugged. I check my phone once a day, if even that. It truly is my idea of a vacation here. No snow yet but we'll see if it lasts another week. These are gems I found on my computer that I have kept safe, until now.
 Ya Gotta Love this guy.
 Her face is priceless.
Sometimes I can hardly stand how precious life is.

I believe in bright yellow toy cars.

Mostly Tears

Blood. Sweat. Tears.
The shorter version.

My plug: I must warn you that this is not the full version of our film but this is a personal favorite version of our film. The full version is, like Ira said, it's trying to be good but isn't quite there yet. I believe it can get there but it may have to be something we take a break from before it can become better. Maybe I am not satisfied with it because it's not entirely mine and if it were mine, it would be completely different. For now, this simple, short and sweet version will suffice.
I can confidently show this clip to you today because I shot, interviewed and edited the majority of this sequence. It is my baby. I cannot say that for the rest of this group project. Nor am I trying to take credit for work I did not do. To be exact: I did not shoot the interviews, because I was asking the questions. I did not shoot three of the many dance clips and I didn't edit the very end of the dance sequence. Other than that? Mine. (PS sorry for the random clip that is very out of place, I don't know what happened to it.)

I pledge to you today to never become a filmmaker who cares more about the story than the participants, I am not one who searches for the worst and purposefully exploits an individual. If I become a filmmaker that does that, I am not only digressing but I have lost my original intention for this art.

I believe in good taste, hard work and the importance of dependability.

Always a beginner

I'm working on it. But I feel like my creativity how I did about love: I knew more about it as a three year old than I do now.

Humble Pie

I'm full of humble pie today. The taste is undeniable.

I was feeling unwell-both physically and emotionally. My frustrations were overwhelming my soul and all I wanted to do is to feel less selfish. Then, it hit me like a bus when I realized that impossibilities are possible. And the silly thing is I've known it all along:

  • Impossible: "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Gen 18:14 I repeat, IS THERE ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?
  • Possible: "Restore The light of thy face, Thy soul cheering comfort impart; and let the sweet longing For thy holy place Bring hope to my desolate heart." ~Redeemer of Israel v 5

I do not intend to shove my beliefs down your throat, instead I wish that this day for you becomes what it should be: A glorious, well-deserved, worth remembering day.

Night Before Finals

Twas the night before finals,
no more time to pout,
and I lay awake fidgety,
my lights won't go out.

My mind is so active,
my heart's beating fast,
I even tried reading,
about things from the past.

My sleep can't find comfort,
from bed, floor, or chair,
not sideways or split-legs or one-foot cold air.
not facedown or thumb-way or bum flying high,
nose bleeding and night eating put up a hard fight.

So how will I fall asleep this early morn?
why bore you to death sounds like a good chore.
And all in the process of the never ending eve,
won't someone sedate this girl who can't sleep?

I believe in tranquilizers.

Wing

Your hand was extended to me. I grabbed hold of it.
Your eyes were turned towards me but I knew you weren't looking at me.
Cancer.
A pale and blue masked your entire body but you mustered up a couple of smiles during the visit.
I'm sorry the hill to my reception was big to climb.
Thank you for remembering my testimonies about goldfish.
You marked this world, so don't leave unless you must.

I believe in falling asleep on his shoulder.

Tribute to Papa

 A Tribute to Papa Buddy

Hairy Face-Chest Man here. Our dearest Papa Richards took a good fall but is on the road to recovery. I feel as though this requires a tribute to our beloved Buddy.

I'm not quite sure how to tribute someone, so I will do so by posting a few random things that remind me of Papa.

(I can easily see Buddy playing every one of these instruments, while poppin' his foot down to accentuate the pace of the beat)
(P.S. Don't necessarily listen to the lyrics, though I know by typing that more people will.)

-----

I went through my mission process with Buddy as my stake president. I'll never forget how loving he is to those he hardly knows and I'll always be grateful of the hope he helps people feel because he knows Christ loves and forgives them. Thank you Papa.

Why You Should Consider Marriage

" I believe every woman who wants to can find a great partner. You're just going to need to get rid of the idea that marriage will make you happy. It won't. Once the initial high wears off, you'll just be you, except with twice as much laundry.
Because ultimately, marriage is not about getting something -- it's about giving it.
The bottom line is that marriage is just a long-term opportunity to practice loving someone even when they don't deserve it. Because most of the time, your messy, farting, macaroni-and-cheese eating man will not be doing what you want him to. But as you give him love anyway -- because you have made up your mind to transform yourself into a person who is practicing being kind, deep, virtuous, truthful, giving, and most of all, accepting of your own dear self -- you will find that you will experience the very thing you wanted all along:"
Pretty fun article. Today, I'm grateful for buttons.

The Nikolaus came by night!

We had a special family night in which I taught Dave the tradition of the Nikolaus! He had little faith.

Needless to say we were excited.

Today, I'm grateful for French words. They are so elegant.

Pearl Harbor

I helped out with this film. Based on a True Story from Pearl Harbor.
I think they did a really good job with it.
Plus, I love Hawaii.
Today, I'm grateful for nose-hairs. Without them, our boogers would fall right out of our noses.

The Countdown Begins!

I BELIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE. Let the games begin.

It's so romantic outside! and if you don't already celebrate the excitement of Christmas every 25th of the month, you may officially begin your festivities.

Clip your Christmas chains,
Carol the sappy yet catchy songs,
Ice skate in a park,
Count all the trees on campus,
The mission is finding cheer,
If you choose to accept it.
