First Day Back

  • The ring on my promised finger must be more sparkly than usual.
  • While forming the words "hello" you looked away. Typical.
  • The Hunger Games Trilogy is finished. Quite depressing.
  • I wore white pants. Bad decision.
  • I'm not pregnant. Rats (lol just kidding mom.)
  • Jessica brought joy to my heart. Like usual.
  • I have to pitch three riveting story ideas, tomorrow. Blank mind.
  • I sat through an hour long utah-bashing session. Then I bit my lip as they turned to ask me where I'm from. (But PS I LOVED growing up here.)
  • Dave comes home in twenty minutes. I can't wait.

I don't waste food

I cooked something and it didn't turn out.

Usually when this happens, I charitably (and anonymously) give the treat away.

One time, Bethany, Katie and I made cookies together and forgot sugar. So we delivered them to all of our young women leaders. I'm fairly certain we even left ransom notes. It was all fun and games until we got caught by one of the young women leaders husband and he threw snowballs at us.
(to see culprits, view below)
Another time, Sonia and I made cookies for an older
woman and while they were in the oven baking we noticed hundreds of tiny bugs crawling out of the flour bag we just used. So we gave the cookies to a kid at school. Boys will eat anything.

Two houses down, there is an old man catching butterflies.
When he noticed me, it was as if I caught him with his hand in the cookie jar.

On the other side of the street there is an old woman walking a dog three times her size.
This is the life.

Proud Men

Only a hint by his facial expression and a small shadow.
Look closely. I mean REALLY closely.
That my friend, is a chest hair.
Dave is quickly catching up.

Drugged Dave

I only agreed to saving up money for the bear head if he can hang in the bathroom eye level to visitors-forcing them to stare into his eyes while having their private time.

Plus, then my mom might not sit on the toilet and talk on her cell phone for quite as long. heehee

Womens Issue

The dilemma of quitting a job....
Saying goodbye is dreadful, I didn't know if it truly was a good decision to leave but some inkling in the back of my mind nudged me forward.
Working at Womens issue has given me timeless friends, a dozen role-models and eternal respect for my co-workers. Unfortunately, there is a time to move on to jobs that will help my future though and I guess 3 whole years was my mark.
Leaving must have been the right choice because since I quit, I have been offered four jobs in one week. That's no mistake.
Either way, this is me, little Lizi saying thank you. Thank you for the grateful Tuesdays, the racquetball racket dance parties, the great advice, the artificial sun, the odd online quizes and the laughter. SOOOOOOOO worth it.
"Nous nous inquiétons au sujet de l'avenir qui n'existe pas." :)

A Boo-Boo

"I'm not at home."
"Where are you?"
"In the ER"
*laughing*
Dave kept reassuring me he was fine but the seeping blood from multiple limbs told me otherwise. Even under high adrenaline and various drugs, Dave keeps an easy-going composure. It doesn't seem real.

I've been having nightmares for weeks about him crashing on the scooter but  I have learned to ignore them. I'm just lucky to not have a headless husband.

He can't put any pressure on his foot. It cut all the way to his tendon and has swollen bigger than his neck. but dave's upbeat, like always. I'm so happy there were no cars behind him and that he didn't roll into oncoming traffic.
Let's just say, "Scooby, it's not me, it's you. You mean nothing to me. Our year long relationship is officially over. Hurt Dave? And you're donedy."

Artist at Work

You may already know but, I've been trying to get better at sketching. My sketchbook is my journal, my planner and my everyday stalking companion. These are just a few drawings that I wanted to share.
Eden wanted a ballerina.
She now asks me to draw her something every time I come over.
This turned out way fun.
And this goes along with a story I came up with for SFA.

PS I have some exciting news but it will have to wait. (No, I'm not preggers.)

Aug 11, 2011

I am barely four years old.

Some people call me pleasant, others just say I'm shy. I keep to myself well and my imagination occupies the majority of my social interactions. There it was, walking towards me- Strong, majestic and over twice my size. A 35 pound girl could have been shaken off easily but I stood there fearlessly gazing up into his eyes. I wondered if it would even notice my extra weight or my tiny fingers stroking it's fur. My feet didn't reach the stirrups but the unforgettable minute I was plopped onto that back, I was mesmerized.

I remember every ounce of excitement pumping through my veins, a horse called snow had completely bewitched me. And at such a young age.

My Favorite Honeymoon Pictures

 Long Beach on the pier
 Chillin on the cruise ship
 Dave's new friend
 Me making small talk
The gorgeous sunset.

Our Honeymoon could not have been better.
Unless Dave entered into the Hairy Chest contest because he would have won. Hands down.

Milkshakes

Dave made the best milkshakes last night.
But I just barely walked in on him talking to someone saying, "Well you see, I lactate and then she gathers my milk...."
Hmmmmmmmm.

Delicious!

Rolo Cookies

1 pkg. Rolo's
1 box Devils Food Cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 c. oil

Mix cake mix, oil, and eggs. Take a small ball of dough and form a ball around the rolo. (Only use enough dough to cover the rolo so it can spread through the cookie.)

Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes. We made 55 cookies.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
