Monday was Dave's birthday, yipee! I had to work all day, Boo. I went to a movie with him since that was his only request from me that day, it ended up being so much better than I thought it would be.
Tuesday, the original plan was to go to the statue of Liberty and then try to win the lottery for a broadway play. It was supposed to rain so we decided not to become a lightning target, went into the city seeking old book stores, exploring 30 Rockefeller, NBC studios until we quite easily got tickets to a broadway play titled "First Date" starring Zachary Levi (an old COW of mine.)
On Wednesday I got to work with National Geographic. It was so much fun it barely felt like work. I basically was in charge of finding an interesting climatologist or storm chaser. I found out so much stuff on how to survive a tornado or a hurricane. I also found out: 95 people commit suicide a day (that's 1 person every fifteen minutes,) a famous storm chaser died this last May in a tornado in Oklahoma, Stu from the Weather Channel only got into weather because he was severely afraid of thunderstorms growing up and there is a real disease where people have severe phobia of natural disasters. Some of my sisters may say I have that disease.
Thursday was a relaxing day, we ran in the rain. We were in charge of making dinner (hopefully that went over well, they at least pretended to like it.) We unpacked officially. We smurfed with friends back home. I did Maddie's make-up for a fashion show....if you feel like calling me to motivate me to do my class, that would be SO good. I cannot find it in me to do the class and it has to be done in two months. That's terrifying.
Friday I went to work, learned about the Mafia and a cool iPhone security system and then rushed home because we were going to my dear sister KIMBERLY NOORLANDER's house (+ family.) It's only a three hour drive but it was a little spooky considering we had come from a city with houses stacked on each other to the dense forest of upstate NY. It was very dark, very different and had a feeling of Halloween already.
Saturday, we went to Cooperstown New York which is the famous baseball capital of the world. We also went to an apple orchard, got cozy hot chocolate, played some Disney Sorry and went to town eating Thai food. Very cozy, very Noorlander like. We love it here and that we're so close to them.
Today we went to church and then came back a tad bit early to get ready to surprise Dave for his birthday with his favorite foods. On the way home Dave found a kitten that all of the kids fell in love with and forgot to run inside before Dave could go inside. So Dave walked inside and was just confused since he didn't know anyone had a birthday near his birthday but his own personal brownie dish reassured him that it was a celebration in memorandum for him. They have a great trail in the back, I don't know if I've seen anything so beautiful in my life. Basically, it was very eventful, I loved this whole week, I want to remember it but it probably seems dry since I'm writing it all down as fast as I can.

Week 2 in NYou
Dave and I are trying to pick up tennis because it seems like an east coast thing to do. Though sometimes I feel like Serena Williams after a good hit, I realize fully that our usual response from observers are laughing or being pointed at during whispers. Sometimes our tennis fiasco's just turn into what is described best in this status:
"I thought I was hearing the songs of humpback whales coming from the TV in the other room. I looked over expecting to see a nature documentary and instead found women's tennis."-Jonathan Struhs
Atlas Media Corp has been amazing, I really opened up this week. I transcribed mostly on Wednesday but on Friday they asked if I wanted to go on production which I responding in a resounding YES (trying hard not to seem too desperate.) I was going to try and do mainly post work while I was here to see if I want to stick with post-production but I can't seem to run away from my love of production work.
On Friday, I had to get up at 5am to catch the 6am bus (4am Utah time.) I know it usually takes some time to get used to a new crew so I focused in the morning to try and remember everything I learned about reading people from Sundance. This is the big leagues, seeing as I was working with the Discovery Channel (ID to be specific) and I was quite nervous that this would make or break whether or not I'd be able to do production at this company again. I think it went really well! It is so much easier for me to thrive and be myself while doing production work than in any other situation in my life. I feel so weird saying that because I don't want to seem like I'm full of myself.
It's hard when you're the new one because you don't know if it would be best to hang out around production just in case anyone needs anything or if you'd be in the way. I took a risk and stuck on set. I'm an extra in one of the scenes and I feel like I must of been somewhat approachable because it was surprisingly easy to talk with everyone on set. The best part of my day is when I accidentally overheard the director tell the AD that they want to request me to come on production with them whenever possible. Also, it was very flattering when they said to me at the end of the night, "you've been such an asset on set. Thank you so much for your hard work! If you find yourself not doing anything tomorrow, you are welcome to join us again!"
I would have taken them up on that offer but my sleep schedule has been really whack. I'll sleep 3 hours for 4 nights in a row and then over 12 hours the next night. I don't recommend this method. This problem has only happened to me once in another time of my life and I felt like it was caused by extreme anxiety.
We have a dog in the house, whom I absolutely adore. He'll come wake me up in the mornings and snuggle me when I'm finishing a book. Unfortunately, I am also very allergic to him. I will not let this stand in my way of the new friend but I do have to figure out the runny nose.
We don't know which ward we are supposed to go to. The first week we went to a branch which was very small but I really liked the French speaking. This week we tried the other ward in the district, which was much larger and has Casey Brey McDaniel is in it! At first, I reverted back to my 13 year old self and felt like running away but Dave forced me to say hello and she recognized me immediately.

Tomorrow is Dave's birthday. We live in a birthday celebratory household so I'm a little nervous about it.

Katie and Brent
Hey look! It's our couple friends, (our only couple friends but we really wish we had more) and they finally tied the knot!
These two are hilarious, I loved doing their wedding video. I lost a bet. In a good way though, three years ago Dave bet me that Brent would marry the first person he kissed (not in a play) and I took that bet...and lost but I'm so happy that he found Katie. They are perfect for each other.

My first week
I was fifteen when I first decided to move to NYC. I bet you can guess but it was With the same friend that I planned to visit France with, Jess p. our original plan for New York was much more sketchy than my gig now. We were going to rent an apartment for Six months, work at walmart or a bar and enjoy the city. well, she went to live in africa instead. As a matter of fact, all three of us in that group no longer live in Utah for the time being. I've already had a google hangout with Sonia in Mexico though, Jess isn't allowed to video chat until November. plus, I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a strong Internet connection.
The first day I got here, I got the low down of what to expect from New Yorkers. By that definition, I do not fit into this lifestyle. But on the other hand, I wouldn't want to belong if that is who I was supposed to be. I can see how that advice would be true in a lot of situations here but luckily, so far, it hasn't applied.
Yes, I admit I am a New York freshmen.
My first day, I walked into the office that i call home the next four months and was pleasantly surprised, it's true that I haven't made any best friends nor would i call this the friendliest place in the world but I haven't had anything to complain about either.
By transcribing for the shows Raising House and Hotel Impossible, I've learned a lot of stuff that will be helpful in the future. Random information but helpful nonetheless.
Dave and I wandered around the city on Friday night, we kept running into famous places on accident. That was fun but it did make me realize, I could use some recommendations from veterans out there.
Yes, I admit I am a New York freshmen.

Why New York City
1. I have never lived anywhere but the town I grew up.
2. I have been offered quite a few internships.
3. I have accepted an internship with Atlas Media Corp.
- Though, I have traveled and thoroughly enjoyed it, 3 weeks is the closest I got to "living" in another area. I find it important to have this opportunity, I've felt like I should for a very long time and needed a push before I jumped. As soon as we decided we were leaving no matter what, the opportunities flooded.
2. I have been offered quite a few internships.
- Ah, the word "internships" is one that is controversial in my group of friends. I don't believe it's free labor because you learn SO MUCH from it. So why another internship after Sundance? Three reasons I fell in love with internships: Experience (you're thrust into the industry with the rest of the professionals that really know what they are doing,) Opportunities you aren't qualified for (I thought I was pretty qualified for Sundance until I got there and realized I have so much room to grow and am eager to learn,) Temporary (it's true that there are times internships turn into full-time careers but it's not necessary, you have the choice to make the best out of your time there. In this way, I don't expect them to hire me and can have a win-win-win.)
3. I have accepted an internship with Atlas Media Corp.
- This is their description in their own words: "Atlas Media Corp is a full-service, independent television production company specializing in non-fiction cable programming for clients such as The History Channel, A&E, Discovery Channel, GSN, TLC, TV Guide Channel, Discovery Health, I.D., National Geographic, W.E., The Travel Channel & Food Network among others."

Once upon a time there was a girl....
I think the world of her...
and her baby girl.
When we used to sit, staring at the stars wondering what life had in store for us, life happened. Despite the fact that those warm summer evenings felt like yesterday.

Last Day with the Noorlanders
I'd title this picture: curiosity.
She knows when she gets caught doing something she's not supposed. In this instance, it was eating a muddy rock.
This, is my mom. Doing what she does best. Loving people.

We're moving for a while. :)
I can't wait to have Dave all to myself. He's worked 5 years at a full time job and I know, I love it, he's a hard worker, men do that sometimes but man, have I missed him during the day. Of course, we'll come back and be super responsible and pick up the slack but the next few months are just going to be golden for me.
I've got two more interviews this week, when I'm taking care of Adam and Eli. Which is great, just wish me luck and also that Eli doesn't decide to scream during those sweet ten minutes that could change the future. Fat chance, I suppose but I'm still crossing my fingers.
Diets....are hard. I see the biggest difference when I'm playing sports which actually is surprisingly helpful because when I want to sleep all day from lack of energy, I can remember how long I've wanted to be good at sports.
I only have ten full days left in Provo, if that. I'm filled with excitement and some terror. I've felt like I've stuck around here for so long but everyone knows what it's like to be "comfortable," now I am crossing a threshold and though I'm not used to it, I plan to love every second of this new adventure.
I apologize for the grammar or punctuation of this post. I let my thoughts spill, in the way that they poured out into my head and decided not to change it. Call me a purist.

Juice Fast: Day 5
I need to write this somewhere, not really to be read but because it's happening and it's quite difficult.
Let's start out as "why":
-My sister approached me and asked if I'd be willing to go vegan with her to support her hopes of losing weight. I've actually contemplated trying vegan for a while since I'm not the biggest fan of meats, I do not like eggs and I prefer a soy/almond milk. I do, however, enjoy cookies, cheese, burgers and many other foods that contain animal products so I didn't quite know what I was in for. On top of that, before I jumped into a vegan diet I thought (for some horrific reason) that I would juice fast the first 6 days. This way, I would be adding foods instead of taking away foods.
Day 1: This was the worst day in the history of juice fasts to start.
It was kim's last day in town and we go the gym together so I ended up going to cycling and power pump. Then, I didn't drink enough afterwards and we ended up going to Deer Creek from 1-7pm and I didn't plan ahead with packing juices. I watched everyone eat and my energy was so low. Usually the first day of a juice fast is the hardest but I tortured myself. Then, when we got home. My dad came through the door with 6 pizzas, that's when the tears began to flow and honestly, they didn't stop the rest of the night.
"Do you think that you are possibly crying partly because you haven't eaten all day?"-Dave
"Why on earth did you let Lizi Juice fast when she's hypoglycemic?"-Linda (btw, she self-diagnosed me with hypoglycemia, that is not confirmed)
Day 2: Emotions were still not very stable, but I survived.
This day I noticed how food is EVERYWHERE. Everyone talks about food, there are billboards, food is in the front of the store/movie theater/commercials. They are brainwashing us, want to know why? Absolutely everything looked good, stuff I've never wanted to eat in my life looked pretty good. I met someone for lunch at Jamba Juice, I hope I seemed myself. In the evening, I pinned all of the vegan recipes on pinterest that I could find. I pretended I was eating each dish as I went and it got me more excited about eating ANY food, even if it's vegan.
Day 3: Energy was low, so I decided to run in a race? I'm not very good at thinking.
I wasn't as hungry this day but I didn't have any energy at all. Until the evening when I had pure rage, but luckily I've found that cleaning is a good rage outlet for me so my house got pretty clean in the meantime. I did however go to a grocery store, which wasn't the best idea and recognized what I craved the most is shrimp and sugar wafers.
Day 4: Better.
I had an interview this morning, that could've went better. I also met with a wedding client at a restaurant but was surprisingly not longing to eat the food. We went to Trader Joe's which really brought me a lot of hope about next week. Healthy things look a lot more appealing and I have full meal plans that I'm excited to get cooking. I did watch Dave eat Doritos which I wanted a little bit but refrained, he also got M&Ms and a soda when we went to a movie. I go to movies now, not because I like to watch movies but because I know that the evenings are rough and I need a distraction.
Day 5: I dream about food now...and also those dreams of when you're in a crowded room naked?
I have three interviews today, which I hope my lack of eating will not make me ridiculously awkward because I'd love to work for these companies in the fall. I worry about the evening because I really want to see people and have a slightly more eventful evening. Wish me luck.

I haven't decided if tomorrow or Sunday will be my last day but hopefully I'm not doing these crazy things for nothing. I usually don't do diets but I'd love some more confidence for this fall, usually food determines my emotion meter and I'm hoping that clean eating will help that.

Lush
So funny story.
I giggled at that person and didn't think much of it at the time. Today, I looked up what that would entail. Ha, was that a compliment or an insult? "even if someone teases you, there's probably some truth in it, and it probably means you're overdoing the alcohol."-----Really? All things considered, really?
Last month, I was told that I could be a "Lush."

Late Night or Early Morning?
I am awake very late.
My thoughts hit me in the face like a rock and it kind of hurt.
One moment we were having a perfectly fine conversation. Then, tears were running down my cheeks and Dave looked quite confused. Especially since the tears continued at least two more times *slaps forehead.*
For what reason? Please, tell me. I'd love to know.
A visit to the Grandma Pace residence was mentioned. We had a party that encompassed every holiday of the year today. Kim is going home this week. It's our anniversary this week. I was going to up and take off for New York this week (yes, I planned on staying in a different state for a while even if I didn't have a reason or a job there.) We want to buy a puppy. I watched Christmas episodes of shows and cried in all of them. Are these sad events? No. Is this normal? I sure hope not! Am I glad that I have the excuse of being a woman to blame random outbursts of leaking eyes? Yes.

I thought I'd just write this to let Dave know when he reads the blog, I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG. Really.
