I've heard that as the date gets closer, you start to feel more stressed and worried about what's about to happen.

When I think about marrying Lizi, I get happier and happier, and more and more certain that is the best decision I've ever been blessed to make.

Hairspray always makes me want to move and delight in dress selection.

Supporting Small Business

So nothing new but Dave and I love food. When we don't have time to make a meal, we like to support small food businesses. Today I stole him for lunch and we went to a fun little cafe called "Molly's" by DI. Very fun, very good and price pretty average. It was so delightful to see him during the day.

In honor of this FANTASTIC weekend Dave and I made up a song:

"We....are....blessed! We are blessed! Put our family to the test! La la la la la la la la la We are blessed da da da da...etc"

Somedays are purely meant for chilling.

Sunrise

I forget how much I love mornings, until I wake up again. I always make sure I have a morning shift for my work schedule during the springtime and this week I took two. I just had the opportunity to experience a sunrise as I walked. The sky gradually got lighter and the birds were singing so pleasantly (one was even singing the sleeping beauty song.)

It just reminded me of David A. Bednar's talk on revelation (definitely a favorite.) He compares revelation to two different experiences with light. 1] Turning a light on in a dark room with immediate illumination 2) A sunrise, a slow but important process:

"Most frequently, revelation comes in small increments over time and is granted according to our desire, worthiness, and preparation. This pattern of revelation tends to be more common than rare.

We may not see angels, hear heavenly voices, or receive overwhelming spiritual impressions. We frequently may press forward hoping and praying—but without absolute assurance—that we are acting in accordance with God’s will.

Sometimes the spirit of revelation will operate immediately and intensely, other times subtly and gradually, and often so delicately you may not even consciously recognize it. Regardless of the pattern whereby this blessing is received, the light it provides will illuminate and enlarge your soul, enlighten your understanding, and direct and protect you and your family."

Dave showed me this a long time ago

The other night I lost it. I couldn't stop crying because of stress. Dave sat silently and just hugged me. After I had calmed down a little bit and wondered what he would do now that he saw the *monster* he took me by the hand to his car, sat me down and said, "We should play a game."

A game? Now?

The rules are: Dave makes an animal noise and I have to mimic his noise before it can be my turn.

Everything instantly got better.

My Creative spark today

Trust

I'm trying to trust myself more.

I have been second guessing every decision [big and small] and it blinds me from all of the good that is surrounding me. The sun doesn't seem to get soaked up anymore, I have to look to everyone else for answers and my confidence plummets. So now I'm going to just trust it.

I know when I need something and when I should step away. When words make me sick to my stomach, I know I'm uncomfortable. I don't need to prove my looks, charm and witty words to anyone but me.  Today, I trust the two feet that let me walk forward.

Money

Money scares me. It always has. Thus, working on a budget is exhausting. But probably important.

Meanwhile, I still love dave. That's good, right?

Blessing: Seeing an old friend!

The ol' heart is too full not to share so....I knew it would be a good day when:

1. a bird flew into our window during breakfast

2. I got to share a memory from my childhood about Ginny

3. I went to Ginny's bridal shower and realized we have always been in the same stage of life

4. I got to see KATIE JONES JACKSON!

5. I was the only person who guessed her baby would be a boy

6. Bethany arrived and we giggled like we always do

7. the nice officer opened my car that had my keys locked inside

8. playing monster disk with my man

9. I got the best phone message from Jessica Whitney

10. my thumb triumphed

11. watching 13 going on 30 reminded me of when we would try to copy the thriller dance from the movie

So Spread good cheer!
