Just in: the concert was amazing today.
Imagine Dragons.
GROUPLOVE.
AWOLNATION
and some Neon Trees.

They wouldn't let me have my camera because they said it was too "professional." Ok??? Still a treat.

Point

The last couple of days I've been struggling with the point.
What's the point?

Fight like Scott Pilgrim

In need of a Scott Pilgrim-like epic battle.
In need of a good concert.
Bought: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Hannah and Sarah, stop watching at the 3 minute mark. Ok?

I believe in rage. I don't support it though.

Seasons of Love

Every semester/season has a unique personality.
Sometimes you can predict it pretty accurately and sometimes it blindsides you.
Here are a few of my page-turners.

Summer 2008= Epic
Adventurous doesn't even come close to capturing how insane that summer was. Skinny dipping, sleepless night trips, falling for someone, heartache, you name it. Summer 2008 sling shot me into a whirlwind of emotion which took me a long time to recover fully from.

Freshmen Year 2008-2009= Reckless
Transitions and change came down like an anvil. My reaction was to make great friends with my new roommates, stop caring about grades, getting little to no sleep and desperately trying to convince myself that I am totally independent.

Spring--->Sumer 2009= Lost---> Found
Yes, I lost and found love in a matter of 4 months. Fortunately, the love I found was that of a David Jonathan Fesler who would change my life forever.

Sophomore Year 2009-2010= Failing--->Trying harder
I needed to get my act together and actually choose a major, so I chose one and realized it wasn't quite the right fit. My plan B of applying for the film program turned out to be probably one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Spring--->Summer 2010= Running Away
Ah, one of my best traits. I had been dating Dave for a year by now and took off to Europe. It's also running away because I freaked out about the relationship and we took a "break."Whatever that means.

Junior Year 2010-2011= Confusion, Anxiety, Over The Top
I poured my whole heart into the film program because it seemed like everything else was too confusing to pay attention to. But, to say I was "laid back" would be a flat out lie. People could probably sense there was something wrong with me just by how much enthusiasm I always had. When Dave and I got back together, I had finally stopped running away from every good thing in my life but that constant adrenaline rush was gone and I had to face some very serious emotions.

Spring---> Summer 2011= Leaping---->Landing
Marriage was a leap of faith but I remember the second we said yes on our wedding day a HUGE weight was lifted from my soul. I knew I had just made the best decision of my life. Hands down, no doubt about that. Before, I could picture how wonderful marriage could be but that day I knew there was never a point to looking back. Forward was the direction we will always go.

Senior Year 2011-2012= Pity
There were some insecurities I had about myself I needed to face straight on. Overall, I feel it turned me into a more honest person.

Spring---->Summer 2012=Bliss
Just right. Something about film clicked in me this summer, we mixed together quite well. I traveled to New Orleans, I filmed a capstone documentary that I have been dreaming about for years, I worked with multiple non-profit companies, we went to South Dakota (our sanctuary,) I planned a Drive Inn movie, I filmed a wedding, I got two jobs that I adore and a whole bunch of confidence that was long past needed. I just thank my lucky stars.

Fall 2012= ????
Bring it on.

The Hip Shaker

Dave spent the evening wiggling his hips on this odd contraption.
It jiggled his brain so much that he never fully recovered.
He looked like he was tahitian dancing and his booty is so big that I think it made the other girls in the room uncomfortable.
He loved every moment of it.

That wiggled and wriggled and tiggled inside. Perhaps she'll die.

Sep 21, 2012

Yesterday I took a weightlifting test which I thought I would pass with flying colors. WRONG.

Today, I RETOOK the test with the book and I got 98% and I know which question I got wrong, I just disagreed with what it said and refused to put their answer. Pathetic, I know.

Happy weekend!

Worth the Vaccine?

If you are fine with needles and can donate plasma twice a week without a wince, I applaud you.
For me, I feel like fainting if I even see the building that I've gotten a shot in.
Yet, this time it might be worth it. Doesn't mean I won't wail like a lost cat though.

Yesterday we had our first French night. Nate, Dave, JiHye and I are trying to learn the French language so we got a few friends together, cooked crepes and attempted to learn french. Soon, the crepes became my main priority and I lost any words I originally learned....we'll get better. We just had way too much to talk about in our native tongue.

I am having the hardest time concentrating on school---though class is very interesting. There is so much going on outside of school that my mind is often daydreaming when I should be doing homework. I thought I got past this stage when I was in elementary school!

I believe in French Cafe Music.

Football

I don't think I can handle football games.
Screaming, red faced, big mouthed men.
Each sentence filled with anger and judgement.
Poor players that will remember what they did wrong for longer than the fans.
Just plain outrageous.

Really shows the maturity of current mankind.

Hush Hush

I have an exhilarating, monumentous, juicy, goosebump-worthy secret that I can't tell you.

I choose to withhold this information because I cannot handle disappointing you or myself one more time-especially this week. Yet, my heart is full and eyes are bright with excitement that it is even a possibility. Recognize the things you appreciate, right? Little old me? Trust, children, landscape, warmth, catharsis, courage, substance, progression? Oh please let this happen.

Dear slimey experiences I have no control over: stop giving up, abandoning, letting go, falling through and tearing down. No more rainy day parades. Thanks.

Sweaty Pit

This day stood out of the ordinary, thus worthy of sharing.

I prepared and taught my first film class yesterday. My adrenaline was pumpin, I dressed up so I didn't look 12 years old and right after class I went to the bathroom to wash my hands of that finding something new as I looked at myself in the mirror....

SWEATY PITS. Not just like a dainty glisten, the sweat started from my armpits and went down to my belly button.

I was afraid that I donated my favorite shirt, Dave's best winter coat and the textbook that I will be teaching from this semester to DI so I had to bike there to see. I couldn't find any of them so let's pray I didn't accidentally donate them. I did, however, find amazing deals on a few movies and books I've wanted for a while. Jackpot!

After buying those gems, I forgot I biked and had the hardest uphill 10 movie plus schoolbook bike ride to my home. Where everybody was crowding around for the football game.

The Mungia's and us hit up Common at the Twilight Concert Series. It's still hard to believe that I went to that because I had a dream last night where we did something very VERY ordinary. Popped in a movie, chilled with friends and then I think of what really happened. All of the lights, the booming sound, the collaboration of sweat, the crowd of people unintentionally swaying and rocking into each other, the rain starting to pour at the most magical moment and that smoke-still stuck in my lungs. The combination of it all made it seem quite surreal.

After our drive back from Salt Lake, we ran over to the stadium (in our backyard, remember?) to watch the last minute of the game. The side we ran up to closed it off and right as the game finished but we got to high five all of the football players as they ran to their locker room. One gave his game glove to this adorable little boy right in front of me, he was SO happy to hold the sweaty glove of a hardworking football player.

That, my friends, proves once again why Thursdays are my favorite.

Why do we yell?
To be heard?

I run and run as the rains come

Outdoor running in the rain. Sometimes we must wait until October for it but today may do the trick.
Drenched-both sweat and precipitation.
Exploring the corners of this town by foot.
Can't wait.

And DURING the stormI run and run as the rains comeAnd I look up, I look up
But I won't rot, I won't rotNot this mind and not this heart, I won't rot
And I took you by the handAnd we stood tallAnd remembered our own landWhat we lived for

Michael and Ashley

What a great response on this wedding video!
I was thrilled to be asked to do a wedding professionally and when it turned into one of the classiest events I have been to in a long time I absolutely fell in love all over again.

Congrats to the gorgeous couple!

Kittens and Peach Pie

My uncle and his family rescues cats.
They are also sending a son on a mission but for some reason I took more pictures of the kittens. Don't ask me why because I don't know. Other then, this is the look of pure joy on our beloved Sadie Mae.

Add space to acknowledge the change of topic.

We spent the whole night before the Pace farewell baking this glorious pie. And Erika and I "marked it with an E."
No cats (nor kittens) were harmed during the making of this pie.
